FAMILY APARTMENT ON PARK AVENUE
This apartment was done for part of one of the most famous families in New York. It is a big family apartment on Park with children and dogs and parents who are politically and civically minded and entertain a great deal.
A rather plain entry hall was made interesting by adding overdoors for architecture and character, and stenciling the 3” wide planked floors to look like parquet. Stenciling and waxing the walls in an elaborate pomergranate design added depth to what was a rather bland room. Hopefully, all of these things together have created a warm, friendly greeting that reflects the character of the owners.
This is classic New York at its best.
